Utterwick Group plc

Engineering capability. Environmental responsibility. Intelligent instrumentation.

Utterwick Group plc is a Nottingham-based industrial services group listed on the London Stock Exchange. Founded in 1993 by Derek Pallister and Carolyn Shreve, the Group takes its name from a hamlet near Southwell, Nottinghamshire, where Pallister grew up. From a single environmental consultancy, the Group has grown to encompass three operating divisions and approximately 1,400 employees.

Strategic narrative

The Group's equity story is built on three complementary capabilities: environmental services, where we began; engineering solutions, acquired through the purchase of Hartfield & Sons in 1996; and data and instrumentation, created in 2008 to address the growing demand for industrial sensor networks and predictive maintenance systems.

This diversified model provides resilience across economic cycles. Environmental compliance work is counter-cyclical; engineering solutions follow infrastructure investment; and instrumentation serves long-term digital transformation programmes across water utilities, chemical processing and food manufacturing.

Our stakeholder engagement programme ensures that the interests of shareholders, employees, customers and the communities in which we operate are reflected in our strategic priorities and capital allocation decisions.
