About Utterwick Environmental
Our History
Utterwick Environmental is the founding business of the Utterwick Group. Established in 1993 in Nottingham, the company began as an environmental consultancy focused on contaminated land assessment and remediation.
Over three decades, the division has grown to become one of the leading providers of environmental services in the UK. From early work on brownfield redevelopment sites across the East Midlands, the division has expanded its geographic reach and service offering to cover the full lifecycle of environmental risk management.
Today, Utterwick Environmental employs approximately 470 people and has completed more than 3,400 site investigations across the country, including its 3,412th investigation in March 2023 at a former gasworks site in Hucknall, Nottinghamshire.
Leadership
The division is led by Claire Doveridge, Managing Director. Claire joined Utterwick Environmental in 2010, bringing extensive experience from her previous role at Arcadis. Under her leadership, the division has expanded into new service areas including carbon and sustainability advisory, launched in 2021.
